Kenneth Sanders, is a Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress challenging Incumbent Republican Congressman Joe Barton in Texas’ new 6th District.
Kenneth Sanders grew up and attended grade school and high school in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Kenneth Sanders lives in Texas’ 6th District.
After graduating Dunbar high school Kenneth earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
His career focus for the last ten years has been in manufacturing management and procurement.
Most recently, he led the development and integration team for Lockheed Martin’s sustainment organization in support of the Department of Defense’s F-35 Lightning II program.
Kenneth Sanders was a Supply Performance Manager, for Lockheed Martin from 2009 - 2011; a Lockheed Martin Subcontract Administrator from 2005 - 2009; a Lockheed Martin Assembly Supervisor from 2002 - 2005; a Business Consultant for Arthur Andersen in 2001; and a Production Supervisor for General Motors, Flint, Michigan from 2000 - 2001.
Kenneth Sanders civic and community involvement includes Coaching Youth Basketball in Lockheed Martin Recreational League, Habitat for Humanity Volunteer, Ronald McDonald House Volunteer, Houston, Texas, Fort Worth Junior Achievement Volunteer, Member of the Greater Community Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas, Delivered meals for Mission Arlington, U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots volunteer, Lockheed Martin collection effort, FWISD Career Day Volunteer & Presenter - Harlean Beal Elementary.
In addition to his professional background in manufacturing, logistics and accounting, Kenneth Sanders has strong family ties. He is an only son among four sisters in a family that prides itself on hard work and community service. His father retired from Lockheed Martin after 30+ years of dedicated service and his mother is a retired small business owner.
